Fairways, has grown to be the major recruitment and HR business support and solutions provider in Perthshire, Scotland and we recognise the importance of caring for our employees, clients, candidates and suppliers.
Community at home and abroad
Fairways is a key component of the local economy and tries wherever possible to recruit within the community. We recognise the importance of community involvement and we have always taken our role in the community seriously - from supporting charities to international initiatives all of which aim to improve people's lives today. We believe that Corporate Social Responsibility means working smarter to become a better business through our people by addressing the 3 main components of social responsibility (economic, social and environment). We aim to make a real difference to the lives of others, including groups and communities even if this is just in a small way.
Additionally, the company has been involved with a number of organisations and has actively supported CHAS (the Children's Hospice Association).
Our nominated charity for 2012 is TCCL (Tayside Children with Cancer and Leukaemia). TCCL has been serving the Tayside and North East Fife community since 1994. They specialise in supporting families in the local area who have a child under the age of 21, who has been diagnosed with either cancer or leukaemia.
One member of staff has been a Member of the Children's Panel for 3 years.
Our Managing Director, Liz Jackson, has participated in a foreign leadership development course in Kenya using her professional technical skills to help a remote African community and region reach its full potential by working with a community of Kenyan leaders and managers to help develop their business skills through the delivery of performance management training programmes.
Improving Education Prospects in Kenya
Whilst we have been involved in a number of local causes over the years and most recently further afield in the remote area of Laikipia in Kenya, we are now actively pursuing the possiblity of sponsoring either a school or a number of children to continue their education in one of the extremely poor and underdeveloped remote areas of Kenya.
As a fortunate and developing organisation in the UK, we are humble enough to fully understand the need for a sustainable solution to the problems of Sub Saharan Africa and its people. The Kenyan people are extremely eager to learn different ways in how to generate and build sound business HR practices in their conservations. However, as their communities are poor and improverished it is widely known that not all children receive the education they deserve which is something that we in the UK take for granted.
We will update you as soon as we have confirmation of how this exciting project helping children less fortunate than our own in the UK will develop.
Respecting the Environment
Our carbon footprint is also important to us and we recycle as much as possible such as paper and ink cartridges, therefore helping to create a sustainable future through our 'reduce, re-use and recycle' policy.
We aim to use the best method of transport in being able to conduct our business.
